125th Anniversary Service of Commemoration and Rededication
Sunday, June 30, 2013
The Prince of Peace Episcopal Church will mark its 125th anniversary with a special service. The service is open to all.
The church is the only church in Gettysburg built as a memorial to the soldiers of the American Civil War. The church features more than 150 Civil War memorials. This special service marks the date, July 2, 1888, on which the cornerstone of the church was laid, purposely timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary reunion of Battle of Gettysburg veterans then gathered in town.
