Built in 1743 on a tract of land called the Frenchman's Purchase, the house was located along the survey line of Mason and Dixon. Upon surveying, the land was found to be split, half in Pennsylvania and half in Maryland.
Today, meander down our mile-long lane to the Mary-Penn has 4 bedrooms, three in Maryland and one in Pennsylvania. The first floor features a charming parlor, a large breakfast room that is great for family style dining, a full kitchen and a family room with large windows that bring the outside in. In the walk out basement a large stone fireplace, once used to cook the dinners of the house, is a main feature to the open great room. While enjoying the peaceful scenery of the surrounding 900-acre Way-Brite family farm and the Marsh creek, we invite you to make our home yours - maybe even plan a picnic.
The Mary-Penn offers wireless internet and direct tv. Weddings can be hosted at the Mary-Penn.
