Habitat
Located in four historic houses, Habitat offers souvenirs, Civil War replicas, guns, swords, flags, books, pictures, pottery, lamps, candles, bears, gourmet foods and more.
The contents of each are selected to please the discerning shopper. Unique gifts, local crafts, and home accents (accessories) are all displayed in a charming setting. There is a Christmas room, a Cat Lovers Room, and a Kitchen chock full of gourmet delights and attractive kitchen accessories. The other rooms are devoted to displaying the nicest of Pennsylvanian and American giftware.
The second house displays on two floors souvenirs, Americana, memorabilia, educational items and gifts that have appeal not only to kids but the whole family. The emphasis is to carry inexpensive but quality inventory as a remembrance of a visit to Gettysburg.
Another historic house carries Gettysburg's most extensive range of reproductions, replica weapons of the Civil War, Revolutionary and Indian Wars and earlier times. Visitors will also find a wide selection of Pennsylvanian pottery and pewter ware. You will also find copper and tin ware and Americana items.
In the fourth house, is the largest bookstore in town. The store specializes in books on the Battle of July 1863, the Civil War, and earlier and alter wars. An extensive number of books on Abraham Lincoln, other Presidents and American notables are also stocked. The store also carries a large inventory of "Britain" and "Conte" toy/miniature soldiers and other products to our country's history.
