An upscale antiques shop that must be seen to be believed!
The shop is located "through the double green doors" on the Lincoln Square, in the center of downtown historic Gettysburg. This property dates back to 1805 when it began as a two-story federal-style home. It is much larger than it looks – once you’re inside you’ll have a spacious over-10,000 square feet of sales display including estate jewelry, political memorabilia, coins, antique furnishings, elegant grandfather clocks, vintage kitchen ware, china, porcelain, books, militaria and a cache of hard-to-find Gettysburg Civil War artifacts.
17 On The Square also offers an array of Civil War era reproduction historical clothing and accessories – all on its lower level in their Civil War Ware & Wearables department. In it family of “stores within a store” they also offer wine tasting and sales of local wines, House of Time – an antique clock and repair shop, old fashioned candies from Mister Ed’s Candies and local specialty foods including their own sourdough hard pretzels and fresh apples in season. The newest member of the 17 On The Square "family” is a full function sales and service jewelry shop that opened in February 2008.
General Robert E. Lee marched right past the front door and President Abraham Lincoln stayed the night, prior to his famous Gettysburg Address, a stone’s throw away, across the square.
